Applications for Tuition-Free Preschool for 4-Year-Olds Now Open for Fall 2025

Great Start Readiness Program welcomes families with children who turn 4 by December 1

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.
– Kent ISD Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is enrolling now for fall for high-quality, tuition-free preschool for all families of children who turn 4 by December 1. GSRP is the nation’s number 1 ranked preschool program.

“Enrollment in high-quality, tuition-free preschool is one of the best ways to prepare children for success in school and life,” said Ashley Karsten, Director of Early Childhood at Kent ISD. “We are excited to be able to offer Great Start Readiness Program preschool to more families next year!”

New this year, all families qualify for tuition-free GSRP preschool for their 4-year-olds as part of Michigan’s PreK for All initiative. Enrollment for next school year is open now and continues as long as spots in classrooms are available.

Families can enroll their 4-year-old children in full-day preschool classrooms throughout the area. There are many openings throughout Kent ISD public school districts, private and charter schools, community-based organizations such as YMCA, and in childcare centers such as Appletree and Milestones. Most locations offer preschool Monday through Thursday, and select Great Start Readiness Program classrooms offer Monday through Fridays. Families are encouraged to learn more about openings and schedules by contacting Great Start Readiness Program at 616-447-2409 or visiting freepreschoolkent.org.
